Black Bear Hockey greatly appreciates any donation! The Black Bears program was formed in the Summer of 2022, when four local hockey associations (i.e. BYSA (Barre), CVSA (Montpelier), HYHA (Waterbury) and NAHA (Northfield) decided to combine forces to better serve the youth of Central Vermont. All four organizations were finding that a “one-size-fits-all” approach was no longer working as there were significant decreases in enrollment in all programs.
With the formation of the Black Bears we are striving to increase the player experience, by listening and answering to past and current player requests. A few of the benefits that our association can provide is more ice time, ability to create multiple teams at all levels to align players by skill set to create a more positive learning and development environment, and more equitable options for female players including all-girls teams. Our skating programs will occur at the BOR Arena (Barre, VT); Central Vermont Memorial Civic Center (Montpelier, VT); The Ice Center (Waterbury, VT); and Kreitzberg Arena (Northfield, VT).
We are a 100% volunteer run, non-profit organization. Funds received from our sponsors help provide uniforms and equipment, offset the cost of ice, provide scholarships to families in need, and help keep our registration costs low and affordable for all Central Vermont Families. Your support is greatly appreciated by the many volunteers who make this organization succeed in providing a healthy and constructive activity for our youth.
